Famous for the “Owl and the Pussycat” and other nonsense verse in the 19th century, Lear was also an ornithologist and watercolour artist. These unusual and colourful bird and parrot sketches come directly from his sketchbook. Writing and colour notations add an unusual element. Each is classically framed in a fine, gold gild frame.
